Raw Milk

Treat yourself to the authentic, rich taste of our Dexter raw milk! Dexter milk is not just milk; it's a higher butterfat alternative to traditional milk breeds with a unique fat structure, making it a viable option for those living with lactose intolerance. We present to you a calf sharing system, ensuring a fair distribution of milk between us and the calves.

Our milking procedure is hygienic and meticulous, with each cow cleaned with a clean cloth and warm water before milking. The milk is strained, chilled, and promptly stored in the refrigerator using all-stainless steel materials, ensuring quality and freshness. Our cattle are grass-fed all year round on unsprayed pastures, supplemented with Chaffhaye, a non-GMO fermented alfalfa, and organic dairy ration during milking. They enjoy unrestricted access to minerals and a homemade organic spray and garlic-infused mineral for fly control. While we adhere to Alabama State law and label our milk "for animal consumption only", it's available by the gallon for you to purchase.

Grass-fed Dexter Beef

Experience the unparalleled taste of Dexter beef. Its robust flavor and superior meat yield, a result of a leaner body composition, sets it apart from other beef options. Despite their smaller size, Dexter steaks are thicker, giving you more succulent bites compared to larger beef breeds. With a distinctive marbling, Dexter beef is a powerhouse of Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9, making it not only a tender but also a healthier choice. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our exclusive organic practices. Our Dexters are grass-fed, devoid of any antibiotics or hormones, ensuring you receive only the most natural, wholesome beef.

Organically-Raised Quail

Consider quail meat as your next protein source, surpassing beef in nutritional value. It boasts lower fat and calorie content, while offering a protein-rich profile enriched with vitamins and iron. Quail meat doesn't stop there – it's abundant in vitamins A, D, K, and B, and packed with essential macronutrients such as calcium, phosphorus, and zinc. Our quail are organically raised, supplemented with organic feed to meet their dietary needs, ensuring you get the best quality meat.

Grass-Fed Lamb

Our lambs are exclusively raised in pastures abundant with fresh Tifton and red clover, eliminating the need for grain or feed. The males are neither banded nor castrated, owing to the strictly grass-fed diet they are maintained on. We ensure no antibiotic usage, and our commitment to natural rearing extends to our pastures as well, which are always free from chemical sprays or additives.

Milk Cows

We specialize in breeding and raising dual purpose registered Dexters. We retain a consistent breeding program keeping the true feet, legs, and udder conformation of the Dexter breed. We do not tolerate cattle with bad dispositions, so our cattle are well mannered and can all be handled daily. We prioritize conformation over registration; therefore, we do retain an ADCA registered herd and a non-registered herd. The herd is equally horned and polled, and free from genetic defects such as chondrodysplasia and PHA. We do not vaccinate. We milk twice a day. We do not cater to the A2A2 marketing trend.

As a breeder we want to ensure we are only working towards the betterment of the breed and as such we only offer 1-2 fully trained milk cows a year. We really wish we could keep up with the demand, but the quality of the training would be greatly diminished, and that's not what we want for the animals leaving our farm. A good milk cow is worth her weight in gold and will take care of your family for a long time to come.

All of our Dexter milk cows will train for a minimum of two lactation cycles. One lactation cycle is generally 10 months. We milk twice a day and use the milk for drinking, cooking, and making butter, ice cream, and cheese. We've also had quite a few bottle baby lambs and kids raised on these girls' milk!

Our Dexter milk cows sell for a minimum of $4,500. The price includes two animals, a Dexter cow just freshened with a young steer calf (minimum of 2 months) at her side. To be fully transparent with price: $2,500 is the minimum value of the cow, $500 value on steer calf, and $1,500 for our time to train.

*We do not sell cow/calf pairs with heifers.

*We do not sell heifers as “potential milk cows”.

*All milk cows will leave the farm open. We do not breed back as we want to make the decision on which calves carry our farm name.
